Las Vegas is the latest city to witness such unspeakable horror after Stephen Pollack allegedly opened fire on a country music festival killing 58 and injuring over 500 people. Yet, this country is more divided than ever in how everyone’s coming to grips with the tragedy.

The response that we’re seeing from country music stars shows a lot about the current political climate when it’s juxtaposed to how many celebrities are reacting to the massacre. For every Jason Aldean, who was performing during the shooting, praying for the victims, you have Ariana Grande pushing for gun control.

Grande’s concert was attacked in Manchester, UK in May by an Islamic State suicide bomber, killing 22 and injuring 60 others. However, these two reactions represent a microcosm of the cultural divide between country music and the rest of the entertainment world. Most country music stars are too busy mourning the loss of life to even think about politicizing such a tragedy.

Russell Simmons, co-founder of the hip-hop label Def Jam, was quick to say he would work tirelessly to pass comprehensive gun control legislation.

Actress Alyssa Milano, who most notably campaigned in Georgia’s 6th congressional district race for Jon Ossof, tweeted four words for gun control.

And actress Elizabeth Banks, who campaigned heavily for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, dismissed the idea of holding back on politicizing the tragedy in favor of more gun control.

So, while more information about the shooting continues to surface, it’s just another opportunity for shameless liberals to advance their agenda.
