Just hours after the deadliest mass shooting in the United States, Las Vegas police are still identifying and counting the lives lost at the scene of the active investigation.  President Trump addressed the nation calling for unity following the massacre that killed at least 58 people and injured more than 400 concertgoers.

Meanwhile, in the wake of tragedy, Democrats are using the deadliest mass shooting as a platform to attack the GOP and push for stricter gun control policies.

Here is an ongoing list:

In a series of tweets, Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) slammed the GOP and the NRA. One tweet read, “And once and for all, we need to make NRA stand for “Not Relevant Anymore” in American politics.” In his 11th consecutive tweet in response to the tragedy, the Senator posted his gun violence legislation in addition to calling for a ban on all assault weapons.

Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren, says there needs to be a conversation to address gun violence “NOW”:

House Minority Whip, Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) chimed in saying the nation cannot be immune to gun violence:

Former Democratic Party Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s (D-FL), first and the only tweet on the issues at 7 am Monday morning, tweeted the following:

In addition, Wasserman Schultz posted an additional message on Facebook calling for Congress to act on gun control.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) issued a statement, saying, “It’s time for Congress to get off its ass and do something”:

Senator Corey Booker also took to Twitter to respond to the massacre saying it’s time to use “common sense, widely supported steps to reduce such violence”:

Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) posted a series of tweets saying prayers for the victims are not enough.  The United States Senator politicized the attack by saying the nation’s security will continue to be at risk “because Congress refuses to take real, meaningful action” on gun violence.

Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR):

Rep. Robin Kelly (D-IL) says that Congress needs to ‘step up and stop hiding behind the Second Amendment’

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL):

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) sent a letter to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) calling for Congress to act:

South Carolina Democrat, Rep. James Clyburn:

Senator Patty Murray (D-WA):

Sen. Robert “Bob” Menéndez (D-NJ):
