A Wyoming high school has been forced to apologize after one of their teachers administered a multiple-choice quiz to students that included an answer choice which involved shooting at President Donald Trump.

According to the Jackson Hole News & Guide, angry parents called Teton County School District No. 1 to protest the inclusion of an answer choice that read, “A) He was shooting at Trump.”

The answer choice was included as part of a question on George Orwell’s novel “Animal Farm,” which the class had been assigned to read. The full question was, “Napoleon has the gun fired for a new occasion. What is the new occasion?”

One parent, Jim McCollum was so taken aback by the answer, he didn’t believe his eyes when he took a look at a screenshot his son took of the question.

“I had to read it two times,” McCollum said. “I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’”

According to his son’s screenshot of the question, the possible answers were: “He was shooting at Trump,” “his birthday,” “for completion of the windmill” and “to scare off the attackers of Animal Farm.”

In a statement provided to a local newspaper, school officials confirmed that an “inappropriate” answer had been included on the quiz, and that they were investigating.

“TCSD #1 administration learned late yesterday that a quiz was administered to a class of high school students that contained an inappropriate answer to a multiple choice question. Administration is investigating this incident and verifying the information we have received,” read the statement.

School officials also sought to assure parents that they were taking the misstep seriously, and apologized for the teacher’s actions.

“TCSD #1 takes seriously threats of any kind, regardless of the intent. We apologize to the students, families and community for this incident and will be addressing the issue with personnel.”

Despite the school’s assurances that they would address the matter, McCollum said that this incident was not the first time administrators or teachers at the school had forced a liberal agenda into the classroom.

“He (McCollum’s son) told me, ‘Dad, they crapped on everything I believe in,’’” McCollum said.

McCollum also questioned the intentions of the teacher for putting such an distasteful answer on a quiz that occurred after the tragic shooting in Las Vegas that killed 59 people and wounded more than 500 people.

“The Las Vegas thing still weights on us,” said McCollum. “We are absolutely devastated. Just like any other American, we are devastated by what happened.”
