Milo presser: Blame UC Berkeley “bureaucratic dirty dealing” for Free Speech Week cancelations

Milo Yiannopoulos held an “emergency press conference” today in an undisclosed location instead of the previously announced, open-to-press announcement which was scheduled to take place.
According to Yiannopoulos, the public location booked for the presser broke their contract with Milo Inc. and refused to allow them on the premises, telling the police they were not allowed on site. Yiannopoulos cited the venue change as just one example of how conservatives are poorly treated in America today.
With Mike Cernovich and Pamela Geller sitting on either side of him, Yiannopoulos said he was “blindsided by the announcement from the Berkeley Patriot this morning” in which they said they were “withdrawing their sponsorship.”
Milo said he was “a little cross with” and “personally irritated” by the students backing out, but he understands that the students “have been bullied, cajoled, manipulated, and intimidated by UC Berkeley.” He also noted that he is endowing the Berkeley Patriot with $10,000 to give them a solid footing moving forward.
Despite all the changes, Free Speech Week will take place in some form.
“We will see you at noon tomorrow on Sproul Plaza at UC Berkeley, and we will speak, come hell or high water,” Yiannopoulos declared in his Facebook Live video. “No matter what the administration does, no matter the actions of the students, we will be there.”
Milo Inc. told individuals traveling to Berkeley for Free Speech Week to send their travel and lodging confirmations to [email protected]. Although no specifics were given, it was implied that those traveling to California for Free Speech Week would have their expenditures reimbursed and would be given VIP treatment. “We will take care of you,” Yiannopoulos promised.
Lastly, he took a few digs at UC Berkeley. “UC Berkeley has a deservedly poor reputation for free speech and its students will graduate knowing less than when they came in as freshmen… they are masters at bureaucratic dirty dealing,” said Yiannopoulos.
“We will not be deterred. We will not be turned away,” Yiannopoulos concluded.
