The left is cannibalizing itself over Weinstein allegations

Allegations of Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct have sent shockwaves across the country. And reports of his behavior must have gotten out before Hollywood could devise a unified game plan because the left is now melting down and contradicting itself more than usual.
On Monday, renowned fashion designer Donna Karan absolutely stepped in it when she was asked about Weinstein. Along with calling Harvey and his wife “wonderful,” she said, “Obviously, the treatment of women all over the world is something that has always had to be identified. I also think how do we display ourselves? How do we present ourselves as women? What are we asking? Are we asking for it by presenting all the sensuality and all the sexuality?”
“You look at everything all over the world today and how women are dressing and what they are asking by just presenting themselves the way they do. What are they asking for? Trouble,” she continued.
As a reminder, Donna Karan is a fashion designer who dresses women provocatively for a living. She also has an ongoing girl crush for Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin, both of whom are/were married to sexual predators.

Then two nights ago, almost in a response to Karan’s inflammatory comments, CNN’s own Jake Tapper attempted to cover for the mass hysteria around Weinstein.
He said the politicization of sexual predators is in poor taste. Of course, he says this after reminding his viewers that Donald Trump has been accused of sexual harassment by 11 women.
But it’s really bad to politicize moral wrongdoing, right? Funny, all I’ve seen on CNN for the past week and a half has been a blatant politicization of the Las Vegas massacre.
And yesterday, Lindsay Lohan came forward in a since-deleted Instagram story, saying she’s worked with Weinstein and never had a problem with the guy.
“Hi! I’m in Dubai. I’m home and I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now. I don’t think it’s right what’s going on. I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband. He’s never harmed me or did anything to me — we’ve done several movies together. I think everyone needs to stop — I think it’s wrong. So stand up,” she posted.
Saying Weinstein shouldn’t be punished because he didn’t do anything to you is like saying Martin Shkreli shouldn’t go to jail because none of the drugs you’re on were affected by his dubious price inflation.
The left’s fall out continues. As we all know, it took Hillary Clinton five days to release three sentences about Harvey via a spokesperson. To be clear, she retweeted the statement. It wasn’t even posted as an original statement on her own Twitter account.
“I was shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein. The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated. Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior,” Clinton stated.
I guess we shouldn’t be surprised by this one, seeing as Clinton is married to the Predator-in-Chief, Bill, and Weinstein donated the most money to her out of every other politician.
Such widespread hypocrisy surrounding the Weinstein situation makes it overtly apparent that the left stands for nothing and falls for anything. At least in times of crisis, conservatives stand together in a united front because they actually adhere to an identifiable belief system.
It’s too easy to poke holes in the life raft that liberals are scrambling aboard to escape the Weinstein Titanic; we’re actually witnessing both boats sink in real time.
